Azerbaijan: Aviation agreement with EU to help drive tourism development in the country

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said that the looming aviation agreement between his country and the EU would help in the development of tourism in Azerbaijan.

Mammadyarov made the comments during a joint press conference that he had with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, which was held after the 15th meeting of the EU-Azerbaijan Cooperation Council in Brussels.

Mammadyarov reported that negotiations are already underway. He stressed that there is a glaring need for a discussion between the EU and Azerbaijan regarding transport.

“I believe that both energy and transport are essential for further development,” Mammadyarov said.
