Delegation from European Parliament praises UAE’s aviation sector

A delegation from the European Parliament was all praises for the aviation sector of the United Arab Emirates during their recent visit to the Kingdom.

The delegation, which was headed by the Chairman of the European Parliamentary Friendship Group, Antonio Lopez Isturiz White, met up with the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) earlier this week.

The visitors lauded UAE’s aviation sector, which currently supports job opportunities for an estimated 40,000 European nationals and links European countries with major cities of the world through its air routes.

GCAA Director-General Saif Al Suwaidi had this to say: “We share many common values such as tolerance, peace and wider global economic prosperity through aviation. The European Parliamentary Friendship Group plays an important role helping to encourage sustainable economic development around the world and we look forward to close cooperation in the future.”

During the gathering, the GCAA showed a presentation on the areas of development between the UAE and the European Union, which were identified as safety, security and airspace management.

The two sides also examined ways to bolster bilateral relations, improve cooperation as well as economic prospects between the EU and the UAE.
