The number of Canadians making their way to Ecuador is projected to rise with the implementation of the Air Transport Agreement between the two nations.
The pact was ratified on February 13 and would allow bilateral trade to benefit from improved air connectivity. It is also expected to bring in more Canadian tourists and retirees who are looking for the right place to settle down in during their golden years.
The bilateral agreement allows carrier from Canada and Ecuador to transport both passengers and cargo, in either a combined or an exclusive manner, with no limitations in capacity.
Last year saw 28,445 Canadians pay Ecuador a visit while bilateral trade amounted to over $400 million.
